Jon Lester Update

In 2006 year Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester was diagnosed and treated for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He made it back to the team in 2007 in time for the series, and this year he's been a beast, including a no-no back in May.

Lester closed out the season with a righteous 16-6 record, and the 4th best ERA in the league (a svelte 3.21).

If you didn't see him OWN the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" in game one of the division series, here's the stats: 7 IP, one unearned run, 0.0 ERA. He's the man.

Something tells me he'll make a bit more cash next year (he's the "poor man" on the Sox pitching staff, a measly $421k per year...).

The Angels get to go to Fenway sunday and face another beast, Josh Beckett (12-10, 4.0 ERA, and made 10 MILLION dollars this year). He's been nearly unbeatable at Fenway, so it's looking good for the Sox to close things out. Sox-Rays: Now THAT will be a series for the ages...
